What's next for your organization submission?
Your request will now be reviewed by the Student Organization Review Committee (SORC). The Committee meets the first and third Wednesday of each month. If your organization poses health, safety, insurance, or liability concerns you will be asked to present to the Committee. Organizations hoping to purchase and store equipment may be required to meet with the Committee. Organizations that require special licenses or groups that must follow specific local, state, or federal regulations to operate may be required to meet with the SORC. You will be contacted by staff from the Center for Student Involvement & Leadership to setup a time to meet with the Committee. It may take 3 to 5 weeks to hear from the Center for Student Involvement & Leadership about the recognition status of your organization. The SORC does not convene during winter or spring break and only meets once a month during June, July, and August.
If your proposed organization is approved, an organization representative will be required to attend a New Organization Orientation and Training Session as the final step of the approval and recognition process. You will be notified of session times, dates, and locations in a letter you receive from the Student Organization Review Committee granting recognition.
